El Shaddai by Amy Grant |
He is the "All Sufficient One" (cf Omnipotent) Whose grace is sufficient for me. His power is perfected in my weakness. El Shaddai is the strong tower waiting for us to run into Him & rest in the truth of His sufficiency for any & every contingency of life. We will never come away from His presence wanting because we will always find His sufficiency sufficient! See Shaddai in Ru 1:20+ where Shaddai is translated in Lxx with hikanos which means ample, sufficient, competent, enough! That is El Shaddai!!! Are you experiencing Him as El Shaddai, as hikanos? When you come to the end of yourself and find that all you have left is Jesus, you discover that He is ENOUGH, for He is El Shaddai! |

What! not help thee? Why, I bought thee with my blood. What! not help thee? I have died for thee; and if I have done the greater, will I not do the less? Help thee! It is the least thing I will ever do for thee; I have done more, and will do more. Before the world began I chose thee. I made the covenant for thee. I laid aside my glory and became a man for thee; I gave up my life for thee; and if I did all this, I will surely help thee now." |

Lord, I Want to Know You A Devotional Study on the Names of God - Kay Arthur- (The following version can be borrowed for 1 hour -Lord, I want to know you) This book is a self contained study on the names of God. Remember that a study of the names of God is really a study of His glorious ATTRIBUTES but in a way which is more "up close & personal" and personally applicable to real life situations. I have seen this study impact student's lives as much as any course I have taught over the past 15 years. This book would make a great morning devotional study but is equally useful in a small group setting or even a Sunday School class. Instructional teaching tapes are also available to help you plan your lessons and Kay Arthur has accompanying lectures that compliment and amplify the material in the book. I can guarantee you will never approach the Names of God the same way after you've done this study. It is not redundant to say that this is a truly life changing study.
